Shelbyville’s 19th Annual Scarecrow Daze will take place downtown on Oct 9th – 11th.  Kick off the festival with Jac Freeze at Legends Draft House on Friday night then start the day off on Saturday with a parade at 10 a.m.!!  There will be craft and food vendors throughout the downtown from 9a.m. to 3p.m.

The day is filled with activities including a car show, Make It and Take It Scarecrows, free hayrides, Niestradt’s Cider Press, live music, and our first ever “Stars on Broadway” Talent Show.  At Main Street School you’ll find games, inflatables, a straw maze, pony rides, and a racetrack.  Also, the Tot Rod Tractor Pull will be held at 12:00 p.m. with registration at 11:00 a.m. – prizes awarded!  Wrap up the day at the “Straw Man Strong Arm” Showdown under the big tent in the parking lot west of the courthouse at 5p.m. or Black Light Music & Glow in the Dark Pool at Racks & Sticks.

The festival doesn’t end there though … on Sunday, Oct 11that 2:00 p.m. the Shelby County Historical and Genealogical Society is sponsoring a Scavenger Hunt/Cemetery Walk at Glenwood Cemetery .  Don’t miss out on the fun!!

Scarecrow Daze is looking for talented youngsters and adults! The festival is holding a talent show at the Mini-Park in Shelbyville on Saturday, October 10th at 1 pm. Cost is $10 per entry. Age groups are: 5-12, 13-17, and 18 & up.
First place in each group will receive $50 in Chamber Bucks. 2nd place will receive two Roxy movie tickets and a family pleaser at Shelbyville Monical’s ($30 value). Third place in each age group will receive a ten dollar gift certificate to Druby’s.
